VBS is open to children who will be 4 years of age by June 30, 2018 through those entering 5th grade in September

Inner Peace Through Centering Prayer Workshop

You are invited to participate in a special workshop series and learn and experience the transforming impact  of Contemplative Prayer

Workshop I: Saturday, May 12, 2018
Workshop II: Saturday, June 2, 2018
9:30 AM – 12:30 PM
Christ Our Light Parish Center

Responsibilities and demanding life circumstances pull us through our fast-paced days. Stress, anxiety, and sensory overload, internal noise of continual thoughts, worries, and distractions take away our energy. We long to stay centered in Christ and connect with God. There is a way to be in the world but not be consumed by it.  Whether you already have a contemplative prayer practice or are just beginning these Centering Prayer Workshops are for you.  Centering Prayer is a deeply profound spiritual discipline, yet freeing in its simplicity.

Mustard Seed Mission Trip - Aug 25 to 30

For- high school seniors and college aged students. Join us for a service, language, immersion opportunity.

This summer, Fr Tom and I will accompany our teens/families to Jamaica. Trusting that you will join us on our third missionary journey. We will spend 5 days with our young leaders in service while being molded in cultural immersion, Catholic identity and spirituality. Mustard Seed is a respectable organization and is well attended by many of our Catholic universities/ parishes and high schools. What a remarkable statement of faith.

"Many of the residents will never get a chance to see the world. With your help, we will bring a piece of the world to them."   MSC

Question of the Week

Week of May 20, 2018

John 20: 19-23

When has the Holy Spirit given me the strength to act with courage?

We offer this form of contemplative sharing for pondering Scripture while considering the question, and for the faith sharing which follows.

-  Listen/ Read (Lectio): Ponder God’s word and listen for what touches your heart.
-  Meditate (Meditatio): Notice what you notice. Allow God’s word to resonate in you.
-  Speak/Share (Oratio): Prayerfully share with the group your thoughts and feelings.
-  Rest in God’s presence (Contemplatio): Notice God’s presence and be still, surrounded by God’s love.
