Men's Group

Men of Christ Our Light and Men of the wider community, come check out our new parish’s very own Men’s Group!

This is a new group being formed and led by Fr. Tom Newton.  It is about each man supporting one another to become a transformed man of God; a better person, husband, father, partner, son, brother, and friend.  It is about growing up – spiritually, emotionally and socially.  The sessions will last 1 ½ hours and will be conducted in the format of a Council Circle (more on Council Circles will follow in another bulletin). Open to All men age 18 and over.  All races, creeds, sexual orientations, and levels of church participation are invited.  The first session will be held on Saturday, September 23 from 6:00 AM until 7:30 AM.

RCIA - Be Filled with the Spirit

Are you, or have you at some point thought about becoming Catholic? Maybe you have tagged along with someone going to Sunday Mass and have had a "this is where I belong" feeling while there. If so, why not ask the questions and get the answers to help you decide.  In the RCIA program this is called the Inquiry Phase of discernment and is taking place now.  If you are interested, we would love to talk with you. Question of the Week

Week of September 24, 2017

Matthew 20:1-16

What are some ways we can avoid developing an attitude that God owes us for all we as faithful people?

We offer this form of contemplative sharing for pondering Scripture while considering the question, and for the faith sharing which follows.

-  Listen/ Read (Lectio): Ponder God’s word and listen for what touches your heart.
-  Meditate (Meditatio): Notice what you notice. Allow God’s word to resonate in you.
-  Speak/Share (Oratio): Prayerfully share with the group your thoughts and feelings.
-  Rest in God’s presence (Contemplatio): Notice God’s presence and be still, surrounded by God’s love.

What are the ways you show your generosity as a Christian, especially to those in need of care and support?

How can you love all people as generously as God does?
