New Parochial Vicar

I want to share with you the news that Bishop Sullivan has appointed Fr. Philip Ramos, AM, as the new parochial vicar at Christ our Light.  Father Ramos is a religious order priest of the Disciples of Mary in the Philippines and is currently the Assistant Formator at their order’s House of Formation in San Pablo City, Laguna, Philippines.  Father Ramos will be the second priest of his order to serve in the diocese of Camden.  Father Mike DeLeon is currently the parochial vicar at St. Andrew the Apostle Parish in Gibbsboro.  The Disciples of Mary is a religious community known to Bishop Sullivan because of their work in the Archdiocese of New York.  Bishop Sullivan has invited Fr. Ramos to serve in our diocese and I am very pleased that Bishop has assigned him to our parish.  I am happy to welcome Fr. Ramos to Christ Our Light.  His official start date is July 1.  However, I expect that he will arrive at our parish sometime in the next few weeks.

RCIA - Be Filled with the Spirit

Are you, or have you at some point thought about becoming Catholic? Maybe you have tagged along with someone going to Sunday Mass and have had a "this is where I belong" feeling while there. If so, why not ask the questions and get the answers to help you decide.  In the RCIA program this is called the Inquiry Phase of discernment and is taking place now.  If you are interested, we would love to talk with you. For more information please contact Barbara Long at 856-810-0881.

Question of the Week

Week of June 25, 2017

Matthew 10: 26 - 33

Adults:

What encouraging words do you need to hear in order to go out and represent Christ?

We offer this form of contemplative sharing for pondering Scripture while considering the question, and for the faith sharing which follows.

-  Listen/ Read (Lectio): Ponder God’s word and listen for what touches your heart.
-  Meditate (Meditatio): Notice what you notice. Allow God’s word to resonate in you.
-  Speak/Share (Oratio): Prayerfully share with the group your thoughts and feelings.
-  Rest in God’s presence (Contemplatio): Notice God’s presence and be still, surrounded by God’s love.

Teens:

When do you find it difficult to talk about your faith?

Children:

How does God protect you?
